For Rust communities
A clearer player-review workflow for server owners
Use one SteamID64 to organize public evidence before a moderation decision, document what was visible, and return to the same account later.
Run a player lookupStart with the stable identifier
Search the exact 17-digit SteamID64 or Steam profile URL. Display names can change and are not unique, so identity resolution comes first.
Review direct findings first
Check source-linked VAC, game-ban, EAC, community-ban, and server-ban results before considering indirect account or network signals.
Add account context
Review public account age, Steam level, Rust hours, name history, games, groups, inventory, and recent activity. Missing or private fields stay clearly labeled.
Inspect the public network
Prioritize checked friends with visible bans or higher-risk public signals. A friendship is context only and never proves alternate ownership or misconduct.
Save a dated record
Track a player, add private notes, rerun the full scan, and export a report. Stored observations make later profile or visibility changes easier to compare.
Confirm before action
Open original providers for consequential findings. Rust Recon is a research aid, not an automated ban decision or proof of cheating.
